I am writing this blog post after trying a newly bought C2 Jolla phone with Sailfish OS installed. I am using the phone for less than a month now with no previous experience on SailfishOS, but with experience of Android and iOS.
I do not encounter the problems I have described earlier in the previous blog post. This might be, as they either have been fixed, or I do not detect them in an annoying way anymore. Either way, I am fine with it. I am using the phone as it was intended to: phoneing and messaging. Sometimes I read stuff on the internet browser or get information via other apps (e.g.: Fahrplan for public traffic information). All of this works fine. I do not game or similar with the phone. I once tried navigation, which was fine; but I still lack a longterm observation.
There is a bug, where Android application have connectivity issues, which might get resolve by either restarting the network module, the phone or connecting the phone to a WLAN. This is a little bit annoying, as messaging applications (e.g.: Signal or Element) simply stop receiving or sending messages. In terms of receiving, you do not notice it. I still do not know when/why this bug occures and which component is responsible for it.
