Enable Notifications for FluffyChat on SailfishOS

FluffyChat notifications do not work out-of-the-box when getting the application from F-Droid on a SailfishOS device. Here is a how to enable them:

  1. Close FluffyChat
  2. Install ntfy from F-Droid and open it
  3. Open FluffyChat
  4. Open Settings -> Notifications in FluffyChat and scroll to the bottom -- You should see a linked device ntfy
  5. Also verify in ntfy. You should see a subscribed topic
  6. Open SailfishOS settings and the settings for the application Fluffychat. Enable "Allow background services to start on bootup"
  7. Repeat the previous step with ntfy
  8. Test it
If you do not see a subscribed topic or a device in FluffyChat, restart your device.
